Dallas Professional Duct Leak Testing & Duct Sealing
Dallas Home Duct Leak Testing & Sealing : Duct Sealing yields BIG Savings!
Duct leak testing and duct leak sealing
can help homeowners stop wasting 10% to 30% of their heating or cooling energy purchased. Leaky return ducts and supply ducts are often one of the most severe energy problems commonly found in homes. Most homes in the Dallas- Fort worth area have duct work and their heating and cooling systems located in the attic where ducts leaks exchange air freely with outdoor air. The air exchange between ducts and outdoor air waste energy in two ways. Conditioned air is lost or outdoor air enters and needs to be conditioned. This is a problem that needs to be addressed and using a special device and sealing materials Perkins Inc. can solve your biggest duct leak issues.
Unsealed Duct Leak Issues:
- Waste up to 30% purchased energy
- Increases air leakage throughout home
- Indoor temperature variations

- High Electric Bills
Duct leak testing and sealing
Duct leak testing and sealing
is a process of testing a home's entire heating/cooling system to identify how much air the system is leaking as well as where the system is leaking from and repairing the issues. Here at Perkins Inc. we don't play a guessing game to determine duct leaks. We use a device called a duct blaster to accurately measure the amount of duct air leakage a homeowners heating and cooling system has. The duct blaster is connected to a large air return and all supply air registers are sealed off to create a closed system. The system is then put under pressure and a manometer measures the air flowing through the fans housing.
After the system has been tested for duct leaks Perkins Inc. then uses a combination of duct sealing products such as mastic and metal tape to seal the air handler, plenum box, duct connections to the system, duct connections to the boots, boots to drywall as well as the return air ducts and cavities. After the system has been sealed a post duct leak test is performed to determine the effectiveness of the duct sealing process.
Duct Leak Sealing Advantages:

- Increases indoor air quality
