Customer Testimonies

"Thank you Perkins Inc. for what your company offers a superb, hi-quality service that saves DFW homeowners money, energy and reduces our impact on the environment as well! Perkins Inc. used hi-tech equipment to rate my home for energy loss and air infiltration problems. They repaired every issue they could find until my house had an acceptable rating."

"The service provided by Perkins Inc. far exceeded my expectations. They were professional, informative and highly skilled. They gave me excellent advice and rescued me from making an uninformed decision. I'm so thankful I called them rather than an insulation company who would have come in to simply spray insulation. I saved so much more money than I would have if I had not contacted Perkins. I will call them again when I need more services. Thanks guys!"

"Perkins Inc. has made drastic improvements to my household, saving me money and making my home much more eco-friendly. The attic insulation job they preformed on my home combined with the home weatherization and duct sealing made my home much warmer in the winter and much cooler in the summer. Their services are top notch and any home owner/renter should take advantage of what Perkins Inc. can do for your home!"

Dallas Professional Reflective Foil Insulation Contractor

Dallas Super R Plus & TempSheild Reflective Insulation

Reflective foil insulation

is a thin, lightweight layer of metalized film that provides resistance against the three types of heat flow: conduction, convection and radiation. This type of insulation works best when it is facing an airspace and is installed in the envelope of a building. Reflective foil insulation reflects radiant heat energy instead of trying to absorb it or slow it like typical fiberglass or cellulose insulation. Reflective foil insulation reflects up to 95% of radiant energy in addition to resisting other types of heat transfer thus providing an effective insulation and heat barrier.

The two most typical reflective foil insulation applications Perkins Inc. installs is Super R Plus stapled to the roof rafters inside the attic and TempSheild Double Foil Bubble insulation over knee walls in the attic. Both of these applications will reduce radiant heat gain and create a more comfortable living environment.

Super R Plus Radiant Barrier Foil Insulation:

  • Two-sided reflective aluminized film with reinforced scrim inside
  • Reflects up to 95% radiant heat
  • Clean, lightweight, and very strong
  • Higher R-value
  • Does not promote the growth of fungi or bacteria
  • Provides no nest support for rodent or insect pests
  • Increase insulation performance

The difference between Super R Plus and TempSheild Bubble

Super R Plus and TempSheild Bubble reflective insulation product are very similar in that they both reflect an average of 95-96% of the radiant heat that strikes their surfaces across and air space. Super R Plus is a fairly thin product that is about the thickness of a standard business card. Super R Plus has a reinforcement layer in the middle (typically referred to as a woven scrim) to make the product strong and tear resistant.

TempSheild bubble reflective insulation product is a thicker product with an "insulating" middle layer of air bubbles. Because of the presence of the small insulating layer, a reflective insulation product by itself achieves a small R-value.
